การหา Plastic Limit (PL) ....... Plastic Limit หรือ ขีดจำกัดพลาสติก คือ ปริมาณความชื้นต่ำสุดที่ดินยังสามารถปั้นได้ คงมีสภาพเป็นพลาสติก การทดสอบจะใช้นำมาคลึงให้เป็นเส้นยาวขนาดประมาณ 3.2 มิลลิเมตร หรือหนึ่งหุน (เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลาง (1/8) นิ้ว) จนดินเริ่มแตกในแนวขวาง ความชื้นที่ได้ในขณะที่ดินเริ่มแตกครั้งแรกนี้ คือค่า Plastic Limit หากดินมีปริมาณน้ำน้อยกว่านี้ ดินจะเปลี่ยนจากสภาพพลาสติกเป็นกึ่งของแข็งและจะร่วนมากขึ้น ไม่สามารถปั้นได้ สรุป PL คือเป็นปริมาณความชื้นต่ำสุดที่ดินยังคงความเหนียวและเปลี่ยนรูป
