SOLVED: HVDC PSCAD/EMTP Modeling Exercise Problem #1: Simple PSCAD Model of the Pacific HVDC Intertie The first image is about a simplified model for one pole of the Pacific HVDC Intertie (Sylmar Converter Station). The model represents the Sylmar converter running at 3100 A, with 500 KV terminal voltage, in rectifier mode. Take note of the harmonic currents. The lowest are 11th and 13th, because the bridge transformers are connected Y-Y and Y-delta, yielding 12-pulse operation.
