What’s the best way to make sure a chimney pot stays rock solid once it’s in place? Once it’s sitting right, I brush a bit more of the SBR and water priming mix over the slates, then start packing the concrete around the pot. I keep adding until it’s locked firmly in position, then smooth and slope the concrete down towards the edge of the chimney. That slope — known as flaunching — is key.
