I’ve been a dad for one month, & I’m learning what it really means to live in the “AND.” You can love your child AND feel overwhelmed. You can be deeply grateful AND completely exhausted. You can love being a parent AND admit it’s hard. As a psychiatrist, I teach this idea to my clients all the time, life isn’t all good or all bad. It’s both.
