An investigation is underway after a crash involving an LAPD motorcycle officer on the 405 Freeway Sunday. CHP says the collision happened around 6pm in the southbound lanes just north of the 10 Freeway. The Los Angeles Fire Department says a car struck the officer, who was taken to a hospital. The California Highway Patrol was in pursuit of a suspect on the 405 Freeway. Officers started the pursuit after the suspect drove into the center divide, according to CHP. The suspect continued to drive south on the shoulder of the 405 Freeway until officers blocked the vehicle. Officers had to wrestle the suspect out of the car after pinning the vehicle near Lawndale. | CBS LA
